OUR HISTORY

Intsebenziswno High School is located at Browns Farm Informal Settlement in Philippi. The school started  2002 and it has achieved a lot for the school its age.

The learners of our school are faced with the assortment of challenges which, inter alia, include child-headed homesteads, unemployment, poverty, crime, gang violence as well as chronic diseases.

Intsebenziswano was basically initiated by three former UWC students (graduates) who have just finished their studies and joined the list of unemployed graduates. Since they reside in Philippi they observed that there was a whole range of roaming around learners who could neither be accommodated by Sinethemba High nor Vuyiseka due to the fact that both schools had overflowing numbers of learners. They then decided to approach the Principal of Bongolwethu Primary for temporal accommodation to summon all the learners from Philippi area who were turned away from the above mentioned secondary school because of the mentioned problems.
